S3 Integrates with Beep Science for OMA BCAST DRM Profile

Proven Interoperability with leading head-ends for OMA DRM Profile

 

IBC, Amsterdam — September 7th, 2007 — Silicon & Software Systems (S3), the leading global provider of mobile broadcast DTV client software and Beep Science, a leading provider of mobile Digital Rights Management (DRM) software solutions based on Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) standards, announced today that they have integrated the Beep Science’s OMA BCAST DRM client with S3’s onHandTV™ Mobile DTV software client.  This integration has allowed Beep Science to validate their client with leading head-end vendors, and enables S3 to offer complete DVB-H software solutions compliant with the OMA-BCAST DRM profile. 

 

The solution was first validated earlier this year against the Nokia Siemens Networks Media Broadcast System (MBS).  The solution supports functionality defined by BMCO as important for Mobile TV services on interactive mobile and portable devices. Beep Science and S3 are committed to the evolution of Mobile TV standards and work hard on global standards bodies to help facilitate roll-out in the industry.

           

S3’s onHandTV client supports the delivery of a wide range of DTV and interactive video/data services.  Suitable for networks in Europe, USA and Asia, the product is compliant with several mobile broadcast standards including OMA BCAST, DVB-H/T and T-DMB, and is ISO/ANSI-C optimized for the unique ROM, RAM and CPU specifications of embedded platforms. Beep Science’s DRM solution fully supports all copyright protection requirements in mass market feature phones and other handheld devices, and is interoperable with all OMA DRM enabled services.
