Senior System Administrator

Beep Science is seeking to strengthen our engineering team with an experienced and hands-on Senior System Administrator. The main job responsibilities will be to manage the company’s IT infrastructure as well as customer’s server installations both internally and externally. Other job duties include responsibility for optimization and scalability testing of software and hardware installations, managing the server park, networks, technical support and related services to support our engineering and software solutions teams.

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

Education

Bachelor degree in IT, Software Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.  A Masters degree is an advantage.

Experience

+3 year previous experience from managing IT infrastructure and related services.

Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to work in a team oriented environment.
• Highly results oriented with the ability to accomplish goals, keep deadlines and to deliver according to high quality standards.
• A team player that enjoys participating in team efforts with the ability to work independently.
• Fluent both in verbal and in written English.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on and strong knowledge of managing Linux, Unix and Windows Servers
• Good knowledge of computer security
• Good knowledge of Active Directory and Open Source software such as cvs, subversion etc.
• Knowledge of Java, J2EE and applications servers (JBoss, BEA WebLogic)
• Hands-on experience in various aspects of software and hardware testing, optimisation, implementation, debugging and documentation.
• Knowledge of networking, database management, backup and restore routines.
• Scripting or coding (bash, perl, python) knowledge is advantageous.
