Product Manager (J2EE)

Beep Science is looking for an experienced Product Manager to drive the requirements for the Beep Science DRM Server product. You will be instrumental in specifying those requirements and guiding them through implementation, quality assurance and commercialisation. You will be directly involved in customer meetings and projects.

The Product Manager reports to both the CTO and VP of Business Development. You will work across the organisation, interacting with business development, product development, professional services, and sales.

The main responsibilities of the Product Manager are:

• Define feature requirements, prioritise them, and create technical specifications
• Maintain product documentation (user manuals, installation guides, presentations, etc)
• Conduct presentations, training sessions and product demonstrations towards customers
• Assist in the sales process, including writing technical RFQ responses
• Assist in the software development process
• Assist in Quality Assurance
• The position will require the ability to travel globally to client sites

Education

Bachelor degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.

Background & Experience

Minimum 5 years software development experience; with at east 2 years experience in Product Management. We expect candidates to be technically oriented with a strong software engineering background.

We prefer candidates with a background in any of the following areas:

• Agile / XP development process
• JAVA and/or C++ Programming
• J2EE server development
• Object Oriented design
• Mobile Operator / Telecommunications
• Carrier/Operator grade server development

Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Take ownership and responsibility for product excellence and quality
• Fluent both in verbal and in written English

Preferred Skills

Knowledge in any of the following areas will be considered highly:

• Content Protection Technologies: OMA DRM, WMDRM, 18Crypt, Marlin DRM, Coral, CPRM, DLNA, ISMACryp, SimulCrypt
• Multimedia & streaming technologies: MPEG-4, 3GPP PSS)
• Mobile Broadcast / Mobile TV: DVB-H, T-DMB, OMA BCAST
• Mobile Content Deliver: OMA Download, MMS
• Documentation: User Guides, Manuals, etc.
• Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Application Servers (JBoss, BEA WebLogic)
• JAVA / C++ programming
